The Best Student Paper Award was established in 2010 through the generous sponsorship of Mr. Pak Nam Chul to recognize the best student article published in the research field of Geography, Geospatial Technologies and Environmental Sciences. This award is awarded annually to one student.

Scholarship Eligibility

a. KAGES membership
b. Applicants must be full-time graduate or undergraduate students in colleges/universities in North America.
c. Former award recipients may re-apply after an interval of three years.

Application material

a. KAGES Pak Scholarship Application form
b. 1-page curriculum vitae
c. A 3-pages extended abstract of the research that will be presented or has been presented at 2013 – 2014 AAG, ASPRS, ESRI User Conference, or other regional/national/international conferences
d. A 1-page cover letter
e. Proof of conference presentation (a page in the preliminary program or a web screen captured image showing presentation schedule can be accepted)

The Korean-American University Professors Association (KAUPA) has been providing financial support for the activity of KAGES. The Student Paper Award was made possible with the KAUPA support, and aims to recognize the best student article published in the research field of Geography, Geospatial Technologies and Environmental Sciences. Depending on the quality of the applicant pool, one or two awards will be given this year, with a maximum amount of $300 per awardee.

Eligibility

a. KAGES membership valid at the time of application
b. Applicants must be full-time graduate or undergraduate students in colleges/universities in North America.
c. Former award recipients may re-apply after an interval of three years.

Application material

a. KAGES-KAUPA Student Paper Award Application form
b. 1-page curriculum vitae
c. An article published or manuscript under review for publication in a peer-reviewed journal in the field in calendar years 2013-2014. The applicant must be a single or first author of the article.
d. A 1-page cover letter
e. Name and email address of the supervisor

Application due date: 28/Feb/2014
Scholarship award notification: no later than 31/Mar/2014
Scholarship award place and time: 2014 KAGES Annual Meeting (exact date and time TBA)
